Ping Pong, It’s On

As part of the group show for edition II of Object Permanence during Los Angeles Design Week, Joogii was invited to create an interpretation of a table tennis paddle. Taking cues from the graphic qualities of netting and table tennis courts, Joogii drew inspiration from vintage Shiro Kuramata metal latticed furniture and lost no opportunity to incorporate plexiglass. We tapped friend and collaborator Tomnuk to develop the custom metal mesh and our favorite plexi fabricator to create an impressive two-inch-thick acid yellow hunk of acrylic to create a freestanding version of what we like to call ‘Ping Pong, It’s On.’
